Summer Reading is going strong here at the library and if you're looking for inspiration, here's a list to get you started.  Mysteries are a great summer read, they offer suspense and intrigue all without leaving your lounge chair.

Paolo Bacigalupi Readalikes



Author Bacigalupi is known for his action-packed science fiction and fantasy novels. His books usually take place in a dark version of the future where things have not worked out as planned for the lead characters. His book Ship Breaker got attention a couple years ago and its companion book The Drowned Cities just came out in May. Summer Reading 2012


Have you signed-up for Teen Summer Reading yet?  Signing up is easy and it gets you entered into raffles for all kinds of prizes, including movie tickets and gift cards to area restaurants. 


1. Read or listen to 5 books.
2. Log your titles at our online reading log or at the library and write a short review to enter the prize drawings.
3. Repeat.

Don't forget that eBooks, audiobooks, and graphic novels count too.  If you're going to be reading this Summer anyway, whether it's for school or fun, you might as well give yourself a chance to win some great prizes too!  Summer Reading ends August 5th so log your books by then.
